Ebenso wie seine Br\u00fcder Bernhard, Otto, Hermann und Johann erlernte er den Seemannsberuf. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">1930 kaufte er die \u201eWILHELM\u201c und setzte sie als Binnenschiff ein. Am 4.04.1934 erfolgte die Eintragung ins Seeschiffsregister Emden.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Am Silvestertag 1944 wurde die \u201eWILHELM\u201c bei einem Bombenangriff auf Hamburg von einer Bombe getroffen.
